Records

The Records Section maintains copies of all reports and traffic accident reports that occur within the unincorporated areas of Will County. The Records Section also maintains a list of registered sex offenders for the entire county of Will.

The Records Section is open to the general public Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Copies of incident and accident reports are available upon request during business hours. Please allow 3 to 5 working days from the date of the occurrence for the incident or accident reports to be received in the Records Section.

There is a minimum $5.00 charge for all incident and accident reports requested by mail or in person. The telephone number is 815.727.4738.

Online Accident Reports

Accident reports are now available online. On June 1, 2009 the Will County Sheriff’s Office began using a new system for citizens and insurance companies requesting accident reports. The system that receives and responds to requests for accident reports is TRACView, which is owned and maintained by DOCVIEW LLC. If you are a citizen requesting a report simply click on the link below.

The cost of each online report is $10. Citizens must have a credit card and access to the internet to purchase a report online.

If a citizen does not have access to the internet or a credit card he/she can visit the Will County Sheriff’s Office at 2402 E. Laraway Road Joliet, IL 60433 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.. Or mail a check or money order for $5.00 made payable to Will County Sheriff’s Office mail the check or money order to 2402 E. Laraway Road Joliet, IL 60433. We do not accept credit cards via walk in or mail in requests.
